Francis Ford Coppola recently made Sim2 an offer they couldn't refuse. He went to them to become the spokesperson for their high-end line of projectors.
Of course they said "yes"... You don't mess around with the "Godfather"!

Dear Friends,
Technology changes faster then all the diapers at Octomom's house. Just when you thought it's a lock, it's not. This newsletter should help you understand some of the newest technologies that are being introduced this year. There's not enough space (or attention span) to go over everything in one newsletter. Stay tuned for our further adventures.

3D or BS | Everyone is talking about 3D. After all, it worked wonders for "Avatar", "Alice in Wonderland" and "Hondo" (well, maybe not as "wonderful" as the first two) - shouldn't it work in your home? Boy, are you in luck! If you like viewing TV with glasses over your glasses, then 3D is for you. If you're really excited about dishing out cash every time the kids break a pair or the doggy uses them as a chew toy, then 3D is for you! However, If you thought sitting through 3 hours of 10 foot tall blue smurfs was annoying, then stop where you are and go onto the next article. Still ready to take the plunge? Great! Your the person our industry is looking for. The early adopter. Currently you can only watch 3D from Blu-ray. So far the only 3D Blu-ray release I'm aware of is "Monsters Vs. Aliens". Try watching that over and over again... What about "Avatar"? Sorry, no 3D. "Alice in Wonderland"? Sorry, no 3D. "Hondo"? Not even the great ghost of John Wayne can make 3D happen. Maybe "Captain EO"? Hey, I get nauseous watching ninety percent of just normal 2D TV. I can't wait for 3D! On the other hand, maybe 3D is cool for things like sports, live concerts, adult movies (agh!... maybe not a good idea). Time will tell. Personally, I'm waiting for 4D. It's still too early to hand down a verdict. Being the great company that we are, you can come see it for yourself - "Monsters Vs. Aliens" of course...

New Technology & The Really BIG Picture
| Here's something I can really get excited about - Front Screen Projection Systems. It was just about 10 years ago that if you wanted a really big picture, you paid a really big price. The old CRT (3-gun) analog projectors cost $20,000 and up. You would also need a line-doubler ($15,000) or quadrupler ($30,000) and a forklift to install this 200lb monster "discretely" onto your ceiling. That was the good old days when homes were made out of cast iron and old railway ties! These projectors were high maintenance, low light output and barely HD capable. But for the few that could afford them and had a room the size of a Las Vegas Buffet, these guys were great.
Today those dinosaurs have been replaced by digital projectors that are half (or less) their size, 5 times brighter, use one lens instead of three and put out a stunning HD picture. Sure, you can still spend an ungodly amount if you want the VERY best. But there are great projectors available that exhibit a beautiful picture for the price of one "high-end" flat screen TV.
The best of the best is now from an Italian company by the name of Sim2. Starting around 5k, you can get true digital cinema. Move up a bit in their line and experience better picture quality than your best movie house - and without the crowds, sticky floors and annoying cell phones going off every few minutes (did I forget to mention the crying babies?).
Using the latest technology Sim2 has delivered picture performance without using the traditional lamp to power their unit (no candles either). The Mico 50 is powered by LED technology. No lamp, no color wheel, no fuss, no muss and energy efficient. 30 years of viewing with no lamp to change - ever! Also, this new unit delivers super high contrast ratio, incredible colors while using about one third less in overall power. Their new Lumis line delivers stunning picture quality that bests many first run theaters. Come in for your personal preview!

To Serve All Mankind - In High Definition
| Now that you have your beautiful new big screen TV what will you be viewing on it? Obviously, you'll want something that looks great (High Definition) and sounds incredible. How about the newest uncompressed surround modes from Dolby and DTS?. Well you can take your stacks of DVDs (and I'll bet a growing number of Blu-rays), spend about an hour sorting through them. Finding that one perfect gem of a movie - opening the case to find... nothing. The DVD is not in it's case! Or worse, you open the "Jaws" case to find the latest "Sponge Bob" episode instead. Well, if you had a Movie Server none of the above would ever happen. Plus that one room you've designated for "media" (DVD's, Blu-rays, CD's) will now (with a media server) only take up just a bit more room then "The Incredible Shrinking Man"! Plus the added bonus is that you now get that room back for Grammy! How is this possible?
Check out the two best servers on the market today - the Kaleidescape or the Imerge system. Both will store hundreds (even thousands) of movies and music in one box. All you have to know is how to navigate through all these items just be pushing an up, down, or side key on your remote.
Each system provides an easy to use graphical on-screen interface. All the DVD, Blu-ray and CD artwork is up on your screen. For those of you that can also read, there is an alphabetized line listing that let's you search by Movie Title, Actor, Director, Genre, Run Time and more.
Guess what? You'll discover movies you didn't even know you owned (or why you bought them in the first place)! All at the touch of a button - all in 1080p HD. Sounds expensive - you bet! Is it worth the investment - absolutely!
